As we all know, we’re probably going to be invaded or a war is brewing in Guyana. Do you think that if Venezuela ceases their invasion /war attempts and everything goes back to normal that the Guyanese government will take our military and border security more seriously?

Us Guyanese tend to be very laid back and just go with the ride but I’m hoping that systems are put in place to ensure our military is better prepared for something like this; that we invest in better weapons, jets, tanks, etc; encourage persons to join the military and increase our reserve whether it be by enticing persons with better salaries or make it mandatory for a few years after high school (on the fence about making it mandatory).

What are your thoughts?

Our borders are very porous and Guyana doesn’t have the manpower to police it all. This is evident by all the illegal mining being done by foreigners, Venezuelans just coming into Guyana by boat etc. The recent helicopter crash was such an unnecessary loss of life. The troops at the border can in no way stop venezuela from invading. It’s looking like another CFIT accident in Guyana and I’m sure Mike was faced with pressure to get to the border. I cannot see a guy with that much experience flying in Guyana a would willingly take off into weather conditions that he wasn’t comfortable operating in. This reminds me of the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash.

I honestly believe that Venezuela will lose if they invade for 3 reasons

  1. It’s a giant jungle. Despite the Guyanese army being small, them and the local natives developing guerrilla tactics would completely devastate the Venezuelan Army in an area they have less knowledge of than the native Guyanese do. Almost every war waged against the natives peoples in this environment has always been to the natives advantage
  2. Patriotism will die out quick. This entire move was an attempt to prop up the failing presidency of Maduro along with the fact that he promised an election next year. What better to boost him or declare martial law than a next door war. The living conditions in Venezuela are still shit and eventually the patriotic fever will die out, especially with the cost of war on a massively failing economy
  3. The amount of international pressure will be too much. Sure China and Russia will still do trade with Venezuela, but they’ll be under so much a microscope that they’ll look after their own interests over a country so depending on them in the first place. Western Aid will also come to Guyana which will prolong the defense of their sovereignty

The Guyanese only need to wage a war of attrition and Venezuela will collapse within a month or so. The Venezuelans clearly don’t know how much of a geographical and logistical nightmare it would be to invade the area, despite their numerical advantage

One thing I can tell you if that Venezuelan military trains in the same type of environment, that’s part of the military training when you become a soldier. Remember that Venezuela has the same type of geography that is in the Esequibo. In the other hand, Maduro has Colombian guerrillas that support him like ELN and FARC.

The environment regardless is ripe for a war of attrition that the Venezuelan government cannot afford to wage for long

That said, Maduro might just ignore international pressure and geographical difficulties and do it anyway…despite everyone telling him and knowing that doing so is a TERRIBLE idea.

Yeah…Maduro might get a coup d’etat soon

Guyana is being actively taken over by the Americans. Its just to wrap their bodies around us and tighten like an anaconda and we are done.

We looking like food out here. Instead of being a monster ourselves. Guyana ain’t even for Guyanese chap don’t fight up yuh head.

Also Jaggy and Co along with Aubrey and Co. Has no moral high ground to tell anybody to do anything. Who gonna arrest me if I and others decide refuse to join the military the same bannas that punishing just like us?

Guyanese aren’t being depended on to defend Guyana. USA is the one being looked at to defend Guyana. Otherwise we would have seen military training being mandatory right now.

We are slowly becoming USA territory. Maduro invasion would seal our fate. Though I already think we are slowly getting there with just his threats alone.

Without USA or UK or Both. We cooked g luckily King Charles and Biden done say where they stand but at the same time duh support don’t come cheap and the damage it would cause quite frankly I don’t think we could function independently.

On our own we have:

  • Shit public health system
  • Our army is under funded and modern equipment is not in possession
  • We had lost a bunch of military equipment in an accident a few years back
  • The enemy has more men and is equipped with modern tech
  • Venezuelas cybersecurity ops seems to be decent since they hacked one of our websites and caricom recently got hacked too we don’t if they hacked caricom though.

Overall we need to find a solution where maduro gets a win and we don’t lose too hard. If we don’t we are fucking cooked. If war goes down exxon still pumps their oil whiles us Guyanese run for shelter cause when f22 and sukhoi start going at it ain’t shit we could do. We are out manned and out gunned on our own.

You don’t want that socialist bastard taking anything. He’ll destroy the people of the region and make them extremely poor like his own people

I agree bro. I’ll hope for the best outcome for us Guyanese but damn this sucks.

The good part of this is I actually expect a Guyanese victory because the Geography is absolutely impenetrable. Maduro’s forces will get trapped in that landscape. A Venezuelan loss could give Guyana reparations, free trade and possibly more territory.

Venezuela falls apart too, there’s no way Maduro survives a loss
